Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026
Lifespan ("My Lifespan" on the App Store) is a food and exercise diary with an AI Twin, made by Tread Consulting ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and how you control your data.
The short version
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising. Lifespan has no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- Your health data is used to run your diary and your Twin, and for nothing else.
- You can see everything you've logged in the app, delete individual entries, delete all your data, or delete your account from Settings at any time.
- Lifespan is not medical advice.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, or, if you use Sign in with Apple, your Apple ID's stable identifier and (if you choose to share them) your name and email or Apple's private relay address.
- Profile you enter during setup: goal, sex, birth year, height, weight, activity level, diet preferences, allergies, time zone and units.
- Diary: meals, exercise, weigh-ins and body measurements, daily ratings and tags, habits, reminders, plans and targets.
- Twin conversations: what you type, voice clips you record and their transcripts, and the memories your Twin keeps (you can see and delete each one).
- Photos you choose: meal and receipt photos, and Photo Journal entries (photos, tags, captions and voice notes).
- Activity log: a record of every action your Twin takes on your account, so you can review it.
- Device push token, if you allow notifications.
- Subscription status: whether Lifespan Standard is active, which plan, and when it renews. Apple charges your Apple Account; we never receive your payment card number.
Camera, photos and microphone
Lifespan asks for the camera only when you snap a meal or add a Journal photo, for your photo library only when you choose a photo to log or add, and for the microphone only while you hold the Twin button to talk or record a voice note. You can change these permissions any time in iOS Settings.
What we don't collect
- No location, contacts, advertising identifier or browsing history.
- Lifespan does not read or write Apple Health (HealthKit).
- Lab-result and DNA features are not available in this version of the app.
- We don't build advertising profiles, and we never use your photos for ads or to train AI models.
How we use it
- To run the diary, totals and targets, reminders and check-ins you set up.
- To let your Twin understand what you say or photograph and propose entries (it asks before saving photo-based logs).
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce fair-use limits.
- To manage your subscription and respond when you contact us.
Who helps us run Lifespan
These service providers process data only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us:
- Convex (database, file storage and server functions): all of your Lifespan data.
- OpenRouter (AI processing), and the model hosts it routes to: the message, voice clip or photo you send to your Twin plus the diary context it needs to answer. We have configured AI requests to use only providers with zero data retention, and your data is not used to train AI models. AI processing can be turned off in Settings.
- USDA FoodData Central: the text of food searches (no account information).
- Resend: your email address, to send sign-in codes.
- Apple: to verify Sign in with Apple, to process Lifespan Standard subscriptions, and to revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account.
- RevenueCat (subscriptions only): your account id and App Store subscription status, so we can tell whether Lifespan Standard is active. It does not receive your diary, photos, voice or health notes, and it is not used for advertising or tracking.
- Expo: your device push token and notification text, to deliver reminders you turned on.
- Vercel: hosting for this website.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, and we'll tell you unless the law forbids it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete an entry, a memory, a photo or a conversation, it is removed right away. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, diary, conversations, voice clips, photos, activity log and sign-in records, and we revoke Sign in with Apple. Backups held by our providers are removed as they roll off on the providers' schedules.
Your choices and rights
- See and edit your data in the app, and review your Twin's actions in the activity log.
- Turn AI processing and photo consent on or off in Settings.
- Delete memories, photos, all data, or your account in Settings (Me → Settings → Delete account).
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your data and to appeal a decision. To make a request, email jarviscompany@mail.grokbot.com.
Consumer health data
Information such as your body measurements, meals, exercise, wellness notes and the summaries your Twin writes may be "consumer health data" under laws like Washington's My Health My Data Act. We collect it directly from you, use it only to provide the features you ask for, never sell it, and share it only with the service providers above. We ask for your consent during setup, and you can withdraw it in Settings. Lifespan doesn't collect your location or geofence health care facilities.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers. Every server function checks that the data it touches belongs to you. AI keys stay on our servers and are never in the app.
Children
Lifespan is for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before material changes take effect. Questions: jarviscompany@mail.grokbot.com.
